We are a Reconciling in Christ (RiC) congregation in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Our RiC status means that we have made a commitment to welcome people of the LGBTQ+ community. The ELCA, the largest Lutheran body in the United States, practices open communion. All are welcome here.
Our Mission: Together in Jesus Christ we are freed by grace to live faithfully, witness boldly and serve joyfully.
Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (OSLC) first opened its doors in 1920. The original location was at 6th and Dawson. In 1949, the congregation moved to the current location (370 Junipero). This compilation of photographs from 1920 to 1950 was put together on the occasion of our centennial in 2020.
Wedged between Retro Row and Carroll Park, we are diverse and intergenerational. We hope you’ll come visit us.
